Alhaji Muhammad Zubair, a Lagos based Business man in the maritime industry has donated a newly rebuilt and expanded mosque in
front of his compound to the Muslim Community around the area who has been finding it difficult trekking long to says their weekly Jummat service.
The Mosque is located along old O.T.C Esomi-checkpoint Okene link road to Upogoro in Okene local government area of Kogi State.
The Mosque, which was opening for Jummuah by Sheikh Luqman Imam and led the first Jummuah service of the Mosque as Khateeb of the day titled the Khutbah (sermon) this: "The virtuous of Friday"
There is no day more virtuous than Friday and “Al-Jumah,” (Friday) is a sacred day of worship.
Sheikh quotes Hadith that says:
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Hadrat Aadam alayhis salaam was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from jannah (which became the cause for man’s existence in this universe, and which is a great blessing), and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day. ” (Sahih Muslim).
Every Friday, after making ghusl (ritual bath), a person should wear the best clothing that he possesses, and if possible he should also apply some perfume. We should try and go very early to the Jumuah masjid. The earlier a person goes, the more reward he will receive.
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “On the day of jumu’ah, the angels stand at the entrance of that Masjid in which Jumu’ah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the Masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this . The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah, the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah. Once the khutbahcommences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah. ” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Sheikh Luqman called the Muslim Ummah to seek the pleasure of Allah alone going early to Jumah Masjid in other to gain the above listed rewards.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Luqman Imam hailed the donation of the Jummuat Mosque by the donor, Alhaji Mohammad Zubair as the community demand, adding that it was a move worthy of emulation going by the divine rewards attached to such act.
He said: Anyone who built mosque for Allah sake has a great reward from Almighty Allah. It is one of the good deeds we can leave behind in this world.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
After the Jumah service, Sheikh Luqman Imam summed it up by Prayed for Alhaji Mohammad Zubair that may Allah continue to Preserve him upon Khayr (Goodness)! Ameen.
The donor, Alhaji Mohammad Zubair in his vote of thanks, first thanking Allah for the eventual commissioning of the Mosque to Jumuah Mosque, also acknowledging the fact that Sheikh Luqman Imam's effort in propagating Islam through preaching and spiritual uprightness gave him a sense of encouragement that cannot be over emphasized.
Alhaji Mohammad also commended the hospitality of the people around the area since years he joined them as member of the community and that love and hospitality extended to him by neighbors contributed alot in making the dream of turning this Mosque to Jumuah Mosque a reality and also appealed to them to make the Mosque a full-fledged Jumma'at services and center of learning where Quran and teachings of the Prophet will be promoted.
On her part, Alhaji Mohammed's wife Hajiya Mama Abdallah expressed her joy.
She said, it is a thing of joy when we are able by Allah’s grace to spend in His ways. May Allah bless the Mosque, the donor and all those who will worship Allah truly in the Mosque. May Allah also make it easy for others who wish to emulate my husband Alhaji Mohammad Zubair, to be able to do so. Ameen.
In a chat with our correspondent, some member of the community expressed their happiness and disclosed that Prior to expansion of this Mosque to Jumuah Mosque as commissioned today on the 31st July 2020, Alhaji Mohammad Zubair once donated transformer to this community, supporting and contributing to the rest of other community activities across this area such as borehole water, single handedly built this Mosque which has been for long serving the people around this area on their five daily prayer, also served as Islamiyah class where many of our childreen has graduated in their Quranic Studies and advancing in their Islamic general studies.
Every Eid Adha like this, his wife organised Sallah get together for children with some sport activities while children go home with lots of gifts and some gained financial support to ease their education pursuit.
Mohammad Dauda Adano, a friend of the donor said the philanthropic kind gesture of Mal.Mohammad Zubair to humanity in general and his zeal to promotion of Islam in particular is highly appreciated and wake up call to all of us. This is really worth of emulation.
Today's Friday sermon led by Sheikh Luqman Ibn Imam at opening of this new Jummuat Mosque was equally inspiring and a sober reflection for all of us who attend and prayed in the Mosque to be more conscious of Allah.
He conclude that: "To the donor, Alhaji Mohammad Zubair and his family and unto Sheikh Luqman Bin Imam as well extended to Muslim brothers and sister on the path that graced this event, I say, Barakallahu lakum!"
